Have you done your power matrix? ( PM tips)

Have you done your power matrix? ( PM tips)

I insisted in a previous post on the importance of formalizing your projects and use PM standards and rules to manage them. An excellent scientist without management skills could hardly succeed in this new era.

Before you start any project (could be a professional or personal), it’s always useful to identify who’s who in a Matrix usually called stakeholder mapping or power matrix.

The process is:

1/ Identify key stakeholders

2/ Establish their interests and claims

3/ Determine the amount of power in each group

4/ Determine the relationship between stakeholders.
